Christmas Eve card

Post number 80 for the year.  I made it, and I have a few more to share.

I stamped this card using Lovely as a Tree from Stampin Up, the Santa sleigh and reindeer came from an Inkadoo stampset and the sentiment (which is not straight-lol) comes from a Recollections stamp set.

This card was made by stamping, masking and sponging.

Winter Frolic Christmas

This is post 79 for the year, as I mentioned I wanted to have 80 posts for the year.  Yeah I'm gonna make it, I have a ton more Christmas cards to post.

Another cricut Christmas card.  I love the winter frolic cartridge.

Christmas Snowman

Here is a Christmas card that was made at a card Class with Janice Wardrop.  I love the sparkle and simplicity of the card.  All supplies are Stampin Up.

Christmas Paper Scraps

Last year I attended a card class where we used strips of paper to form the background for a card.  I lived this technique as it is so great for using scraps.  This card is simple you just cut your scraps into strips.  I cut a 5.25 by 4 inch piece of cardstock and ran it through my xyron.  I then took strips of my Christmas paper and started attaching in a pattern.  I cut the base for the sentiment and stuck it on the front of the card.

Baby Henry

I thought that I'd post a baby card that I made for a baby luncheon we had at work today.
I used my cricut imagine for this card and the Nursery Tails cartridge.  I also used Plantin School book for the H.  I switched up the colours for the baby sign.

It's Christmas

Here is a really simple card I made with a stamp from Heathers (Heathers closed in January of 2015, I sure miss the store).  I don't remember the name of the stamp and as I mentioned in a previous post I have packed all my Christmas stamps away.  I used Stampin Up watercolor pencils for this.

My final dryer sheet card for 2015

I had an errand to run for a client this past Saturday, I happened to know that there was a Scrapbook store just down the street.  So before I headed home I just had to stop in.  Two of my favorite stamp sets are from Stampin up, Lovely as a tree, and I can't remember the name but is the post just before this one.  Well I found a stamp at the store it is from Frog's Whiskers Ink, and is called k1043 Backwoods.  Having this new stamp I just knew I had to make one final dryer sheet card.  So here it is.

Simple and fast Christmas Card

This is a super fast and simple card.  It is a stampin up set (I don't remember the name, and I put all my Christmas stamps away).  Card base and two layers are cut, the image is then stamped with versamark, and green embossing powder added, then heat set.  Finally just put it together.

Preserve a Christmas

Well 2015 is almost over, wow this year has gon so quickly.  My goal this year was to have 80 posts, I'm not sure I will make it but I will try to get there, I'm very close.  I have to say I really admire those who manage to post everyday.

Anyway this card uses Perfectly Preserved and an Inkadoo stamp set.  I also used the cricut for the red background piece.

Bringing the tree home

Thanks to YouTube for this card. I believe the card was on cards tv.  This was made with the cricut cartridge just because cards, and winter frolic.

Cardinal Dryer Sheet card

I saw a recent post where someone had done a dryer sheet card with the new stampin up cardinal stamp.  I don't have that stamp but a similar one from stampin up a few years ago.  I thought I would give it a try.  I colored the cardinal with stampin up markers and did not like the way it turned out, so I restamped the image and colored it with copics instead.  I don't think I'm really happy with the card but it is still usable.  The card is glittery but it is very difficult to see that in this photo.

Merry Christmas snowflake card

Oh my I have been lazy in my posts, I have made over 75 Christmas Cards, and have only posted one or two.  Well here is another

Here is a card I made, the inspiration for this card came from Gina K, I used the Paper Trimmings cricut cartridge for the snowflakes, and I used a new Stampin up stampset for the the greeting (I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the stampset and I have put all my Christmas stamps away).

Christmas is coming.

Man Christmas is getting close.  I have a ton of cards to post.  Here is the first of the cards.  I got the idea for this card from Pinterest, and I'm sorry but I don't remember the person who posted the card.  I used my standard Staples cardstock for this card and silver glitter paper from the Dollar Store.

On another note my dog is terribly ill right now and is spending the next 48 hours at the Vet.  Please keep him in your prayers.

Spiderman Gifts

One of the girls in my office has a 5 year old son, he is the cutest little thing.  He happens to love Spiderman, so I decided to make a couple of spidey things for his birthday.

Frosty -- Stamping Up

I realized this evening that I need to have all my Christmas cards done by December 1st, and that is only 30 days, the 12 Christmas cards I've made so far will not be enough.  So I got out my Xmas sets and started making cards. This card comes from an old set that I haven't used in a few years. ziy was easy to do, and only required a bit of coloring.  I used the Frosty stamp set, and colored the hat with basic grey and creamy caramel, I colored the scarf and leaf with cherry cobbler and wild wasabi.
I heat embossed the sentiment.

Happy Halloween

Happy halloween everyone,  I did up 60 bags for the kids tonight,  I only had 20 kids come to the door.  Back when my kids were small I would have about 200 kids to the door.  Oh well, there is lots of extra candy in the house.

I made these boxes for my kids and for the grandchildren.  I cut the boxes from Happy Hauntings, at 10 inches, I then cut the ghost from the same cartridge, I cut it at 3 inches.  The ribbon is from Michaels.

Teddy bear parade gift tags

These tags come from Teddy Bear Parade and Art Philosophy.  I think they are adorable.  I saw similar tags on Pinterest, but changed them up a bit.  Love the way they turned out.

Christmas gift tags

At the Crop and Create in Cornwall I decided to work on Christmas items.  I usually make all of my own gift tags, cards and some gifts.  Here are two of the gift tags I made, I used my cricut for these.
The cartridges I used are, Winter Frolic for the tree cut at 2.75, Simply charmed for the Stocking cut at 2.75 (hid the face on the stocking),  Scalloped square from Art Philosophy cut at 3.0 inches, and the two layers of squares from Art Philosophy cut at 2.5 and 2.25 inches.  Inspiration for these tags came from Pinterest.

Sometimes you just enjoy.....

2015 Crop and Create

Wow, what a great weekend I just had.  I attended the Crop and Create in Cornwall.  This event is so well run.  I had a great time with my friends and I even ran into Rhonda Lamourie who I haven't seen in years.  I'm looking forward to attending some events in Renfrew with her.
As usual I packed way too much stuff for the weekend, too much paper and too many stamp sets.  Last year I brought 6 bags to the crop, this year 4 bags.  Next year I'm going to try and get it down to 3 bags.  I didn't do a lot of scrapbooking pages this time around, only three, but I did get a jump start on my Christmas crafts.
Thanks to Catherine and all her staff for such a great time.

2015 Crop and Create -- Nav Centre Cornwall

Tomorrow I'm off to the Crop and Create event at the Nav Centre in Cornwall.  It is a three day event hosted by Scrapbook and Cards.  This is all I have packed this year, I'm down 3 things to carry.  The large bag contains mainly paper.  I think I am bringing too much paper but I am working on cards this weekend (Christmas), and I don't want to be limited in my options.  The bag with the white marking on the front contains my cricut and my gypsy.  I already have many cut files loaded onto the gypsy so I'm hoping I can get a lot done.  The black bag on top holds my stamp sets, ink pads and markers.
lastly my carry bag holds my ribbon case, buttons, bling, glue, and various other tools.
Other than the paper I don't think I have over packed this time.  What do you pack for your scrapbooking weekends?  Do you over pack?

Westies in Need

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow I am taking part in a fundraiser for Westies.  The group is called Westies in Need and they do great work rescuing and placing Westies with families.  I took part in this event last year and it was a lot of fun.  This year I thought I'd make a package of cards for the raffle table.
I used the card sample at the front of the Just Because Cards book and followed the sizes.  I did not want the Dog Gone Good sentiment so I stamped "Happy Birthday"  "Thank you" "I miss you" "Get Well"  "Best Wishes".  I then put them in a package added some cardstock and ribbon and a cut of the dog.  Before anyone says anything I know this is a Scottie, not a Westie, but I didn't like the silhouette of the Westie.

Wedding Favors

Hi all, Saturday evening my co-worker who is getting married came by to label her wedding favors.  She purchased these little bottles of maple syrup to give to her guests attending the wedding.  We used CCR and my Cricut Imagine to do these bottles.  We cut the half circles from Cricut fonts and basic shapes.  We used the Berries and Cream for the two colors.  We cut these with the darker purple on the cartridge and cut them at 1.2 inches.  then we colored the same shape again and cut it at 1.0 inches.  I added a sheet to the project and lined up the wording with the circles.  We used Cricut fonts and Basic shapes for the Love is Sweet and the date.  For the Lisa and Joshua we used MS Elegant cakes.  I used the print feature only.  With a few hiccups this worked.  I had purchased the cricut printable vinyl to make this project.  We had a few glasses of wine while making this, and I probably didn't photograph the best bottle.

Bridal Shower Chocolate Mousse

We had a shower for one of the girls in my office yesterday.  Another one of the staff made chocolate mousse, and I decorated it up with the cupcake toppers from my last post and some cupcake wrappers.  Here's how they looked.

Cupcake Toppers

Yesterday I made cupcake toppers for an event at work.  A co-worker is getting married and we are having a potluck lunch for her.  I went out to buy some tylos and meringue powder to make the gum paste.  I didn't want to travel to Michaels so I thought I'd pick it up at Bulk Barn.  I almost dropped at the price of it.  They did have the ready made gum paste but to add the color to it is a pain, which is why I wanted to make my own.  The clerk suggested a just add water package, it was only $4.99 so I thought I'd give it a whirl.  I have to say I was very happy with it.  I just added the 4 tbsp of water and mixed it in my mixer,  I added the color right to the mixer.  I put it in a bag and left it in the fridge overnight.  It rolled out really well and cut great with my cricut.  Here is a picture of the mix and the toppers.

Gorgeous grunge birthday card

I needed a couple of cards for a card package I was making as a gift. Here is one I made using gorgeous grunge.  I used black ink and summer starfruit.  The butterflies were cut from CTMH Art philosophy cartridge at 1 inch.  the scallop punch and circle punches are from Stampin Up.

Homemade embossing folder

This is an embossing folder I made this morning.  As I am preparing for the crop I am attending in September I realized that one of the projects I plan on making uses an embossing folder similar to this one.  Since I don't have this folder I decided to make my own.  I used a cut from Mothers Day Kids cart to design this card.  Since I don't have the cart, I made an svg of the image and cut it with SCAL2.  I used three layers of ultra thick cardstock to make this.  It requires one shim when running through the cuttlebug.  The design measures 5.514 x 6.368

Cricut storage

This is where I keep my cricut cartridges.  My Imagine cartridges are not in this section of my craftroom, they are kept on the desk that my Imagine is on.  I have gone right to the ceiling with these carts.  I prefer having the carts over the digitals (although I do have several of them).  I realize I am going to have to take these carts out of the boxes, but, I really don't want to do that.  How do you store your cartridges, (please leave pictures in the comments.)

Your story and foil

I have been wanting to try the Heidi Swapp foil for quite some time.  Christine from Creations with Christine did a couple of posts with her new Minc machine.  I would love to have a Minc machine but the budget just doesn't allow it.  I researched and found that I could you something that I already had, something I just had to have but doesn't get much use.....my Your Story Machine.  I went on my older computer that has a laserjet printer, I downloaded an image and set it to the printer.  I printed on cardstock.  My first attempt wasn't bad, my second better, results I'm happy with.  I did not use a carry sheet or cover for this I simply ran the foil through the machine directly ontop of my image.  I ran them through the machine 4 times.  I do have to say the toner in my laserjet printer is old, and was not a true deep black.  I bought red and gold foil, Christmas is coming and I figured these would be great colours to work with.

Truck decals

Wow where is the summer going.  I haven't had much time in my craftroom as I have company.
The company arrived the first week of July and are here until September 01, 2015.  So I haven't been doing much crafting.  My brother recently purchased a new truck.  His nickname is spider so he wanted to add some spiders to the truck.  We put the decals on last night (in the rain of course).
I used vinyl from Deserres, my cricut and scal2 to create the images.

Another boat project

Here is another vinyl decal I did for a boat.  The image was found on pinterest.  I used scal2 and my cricut to cut it.

Golf raffle

I haven't posted in awhile, I have been having a busy summer with visitors,  I have company right up till September 1, 2015.
One of the things I did put together was the golf gift basket.  Allstate is taking part in the "kids come first golf tournament", this is a fund raiser for Autism.

The only real crafting was making the Allstate sign.  I did this using Scal2.

Campin Critters -- birthday card

This is a card I made for a co-worker at work.  I won't get into the reason he is getting this card, I'll just leave it up to your imagination.
I wanted the Campin Critters cartridge for a long time, and finally got it.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper stamp set More Punny-licious (with MPS, texas Chocolate).  It reads That stinks!,  the inside of the card will say "that no one knows its your birthday".  Our office manager deleted his birthday from his facebook account because he didn't lock his computer.

Any way the card base is cardstock from Michaels, the layer and the strip on the bottom of the card is from My Minds Eye collection.  The cut is from Campin Critters.  I stamped the cuts for the outhouse with SU Hardwood stamp, with MPS texas chocolate,  All cuts were done with Michaels cardstock.  The cut was done at 3.5 inches,  I used bling for the eyes.

Birthday Wishes

First off I apologize for this photo being blurry, I gave the card to the birthday girl and forgot to photograph it so I did that at work and lets just say I have taken better pictures before.

The paper for the project (pink), came from Michaels.  The green pattern paper and the yellow pattern paper came from the Cornwall Crop and Create event.  I used some prima flowers, and SU Just Believe Stamp set, the Ink was my favorite, My Pink Stamper, Texas Chocolate.

Fabulous florals birthday

This is a birthday card I made for a co-worker.  It is such a simple card.  I used Fabulous Florals SU as the stamp, I stamped the image in wild wabasi,  I then attached a flower that I found at the dollar store last night (in came in 5 different colors and I bought them all).  the oval was cut from CTMH, and I cut the decorative overlay and attached it.  The ribbon is from Michaels, and the sentiment is from SU Itty Bitty Banners and stamped with Perfect Plum.  I ran the background paper through the cuttlebug and used my corner chomper on the corners.

Crop and Create -- Cornwall 2014

3 months till the Crop and Create Cornwall event.  I can hardly wait.  I was looking at pictures from last year's even and realized I didn't post any pictures from it.  So here they are.
