baby girl card

Here is a pintrest inspired card that I made for my boss at work.  She is due to pop any day now.
I used my Cricut to make this card, I used the cartridge Doodlecharms for the base (much larger than the pintrest card, I also used Create a Critter for the teddy bear instead of the one from Doodle charms, I added a rattle that was not included in the pintrest post.

Male birthday number 2

As I said I have a lot of male birthday cards to do this month.  Here is male card number 2,
I used the straw method for this card, laying blobs of reinker on the cardstock and blowing it around with a straw.  Its a fast easy technique, and perfect for a male card.

Enjoy

Male Birthday

Well its the start of a new year, and for me that means I have a ton of male birthday cards to make.
This is the first
I used Ivory cardstock from Michaels, some burgandy cardstock from a cricut package, old olive cardstock from Stampinup and some Designer paper from My Mind's Eye -- Lost & Found3 pack.
I used my crimper on the old olive cardstock.
Ink I used was Cherry Cobbler from Stampin Up, and Walnut Stain distress ink.
The sentiment is from It's Your Birthday stamp set from Stampin Up, and the Cake is from Birthday Whimpsy again from Stampin Up.
The tag and brads I had in my stash from the dollarstore.

Happy New Year, 2014

I have never looked forward to the end of a year as much as I have for 2013. A series of events made it a very bad year for our family, both mentally and financially. As I started packing up the Christmas items in our home I looked at my tree skirt and my Santa that hangs on the door. I made these in 1998, after another bad year for us. I made these as I was going through Chemo and Radiation for Breast Cancer. So as I was packing them up I realized that although I made them at a bad time in my life, what came after them has been 16 years with my wonderful family, 16 years I wasn't expected to survive. What pulled us through 2013 was our family and our wonderful friends. Thanks to everyone, you mean so much to us.  I'm looking forward to a great 2014.
