As the year winds down.....

I realize I did not reach my goal of 1 post per month.  I guess that will have to be my New Year's Resolution (again).

Here is a star I made for my neighbour, it is cut on the Cricut Expression, I used a piece of 12 x 12 cardstock and used the fit to page button.  I used white cardstock and after I cut and scored the star I spray painted it with silver glitter paint.  I cut 2 of them and attached them together at the tips of the star.  The star was form Art Philosophy.  I painted modge podge on the inside of each star to give it a bit more stability.

My favorite card this year

Here is my favorite Christmas card I made this year.  All supplies were Stampin Up.  We made this card at a workshop, I'm pretty sure the idea for the card came from Pintrest.

Christmas tags

I'm starting to pack my things up for Christmas, wrapping paper and gift bags.  I realized that when I open the bag next year I will not have any gift tags (I only open the bag when I have to start wrapping), so I made up a few to get me started.

I used Plantin Schoolbook for the tag and cut it at 4.5 inches.  I cut it once in a color and once in white, I then cut the white with my scissors to make it look like snow.  I ran the white through the cuttlebug using the swiss dot embossing folder, then inked the edges.  I used snow friends for the snowman, he is the last snowman on the cart, and is cut at 2.5 inches, I did not cut use the eyes, mouth, nose or buttons, I just drew them on with my copics.

I only used scraps when making these, it certainly would have gone faster using full sheets and cutting more than one at a time, but I keep on getting more scraps, it feels great to use them.

Enjoy.

SANTA CLAUS PARADE

December is a month for giving.  My office, Allstate, took part in the annual Santa Claus Parade here in our community.  We had a great time giving out candy canes, car scrappers, book marks and MADD ribbons.  Allstate is a proud sponsor of MADD, and we lead the charge on distracted driving as well.
From all of us at Allstate Insurance Barrhaven.  Happy Holidays.

Get Well Soon

Like sympathy cards, I don't like having to do get well cards.  Janice my Stampin Up rep had a stroke a couple of nights ago.  I made this card for her, it was inspired by a youtube video I watched, however, I did not have any of the stamps the lady used.  I improvised with what I had on hand.
I used 32lb velum, versa mark, and copper embossing powder.  I used the stamp and die set Perfectly Preserved from Stampin Up.  The flower and leaf come from CTMH stamp set treasured life and is stamped in old olive and pretty in pink (stampin up).  The Salutation is from Sincere Salutations again Stampin Up.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder at the base of the card (I'm not sure of the name of the folder, but it comes with the new edition of the cuttlebug).  I also used Plantin School book cartridge for the tag, I cut it at 1/2 inch, but then cut it down.  The white cardstock is from Staples, and the mat is Old Olive from Stampin Up.   Pop dots were used to attach the Jar and Salutation.  I used Art Philosophy cart for the oval and oval layer.  Finally I added some bakers twine and some bling (dollar store).  Hope you enjoy.

Quick and Easy Christmas Card

Here is a fast Christmas card. The card bas is glorious green from stampin up.  The red is real red from stampinup, the white is from staples.  I used a cuttlebug embossing folder and stamp from Lovely as a Tree, the sentiment comes from a Close to My Heart set.
The bling is from the dollar store.  The ink is glorious green.

quick and easy card

I found a youtube video, 10 cards in 20 minutes.  I can't think of the Stampin Up demonstrators name but she has some neat ideas (and money saving techinques).  I didn't have all the stamps she had but I improvised...Brandy, is her first name.

Dryer sheet Xmas

One of my favorite stamp sets is Stampin Ups Lovely as a tree.  I found a video on Youtube for this card.
I used Early Espresso as the card base and layered it with Soft Suede.  I used white cardstock from Staples.
The ink is soft suede, the trees are stamped after inking once then stamping the tree twice (per inking).
The ribbon is from the dollar store.
I used a gain dryer sheet and sprayed it with Elmers spray glue, attached the dryer sheet to the white cardstock and then sprinkled Close to my Heart fine glitter on it.

Mrs Claus card

here is a fast simple Christmas Card.
I used real red cardstock, and staples white cardstock.  Black ribbon for a belt.  Dollar store brad for the belt buckle and a cuttlebug folder.  I used Formal Occasions cricut cartrige and cut the image twice so I could add the white trim to the dress.

Window Christmas Card

I bought this window die over a year ago,  I had to have it, but then I couldn't figure out what to do with it.  I saw a post on pintrest that used this die, here is the card I made with it.
I used  stampin up card stock, Martha Stewart punch for the wreath, Lovely as a Tree stamp set (its a shame its retired), and the swiss dots cuttlebug folder.

Simple Thank You

Here is a simple thank you card I made this morning.
I used Recollections CardStock for the base and the matting of the sentiment and image.
I used scraps of white cardstock I had laying on my work area.
The printed paper is from a paper pack/pad from Stamping Up.
The sentiment is from Stamping Up, as is the ink which was Rose Red, and on the flower pot I used Close to Cocoa for some light sponging.

The Flower pot was cut from Walk in my Garden, and was cut at 1 3/4 inches.
The Flower is on Art Philosophy (is flower 1) and is cut at 2, 1 3/4, 1 1/2, 1 1/4, and one inch.
The pearl is from Martha Stewart's collection.

Losing a friend

One of my neighbours lost their dear pet Sasha last week.  I saw Sasha a couple of days before she passed and I do believe that she is in a better place (of course that doesn't help the pain of losing a pet).  Sasha was 16 years old and was so loved by her family.
Below is a card I made for the family.  I found the inspiration for this card on Pintrest.

baby shower items

I was recently asked to help out with a baby shower.
I already posted the banner, but I thought I'd re post the picture as it looks better over the fireplace than it did on my railing.  I also made this mobile.

male birthday card

This is just a quick card I made for someone at work.  I struggle with male cards.

Stamp and paper from Stampin Up, also used glossy accents, and the cuttlebug.

Packaged Cards

Hi Everyone,  I know I haven't posted in a while, but I have been busy.  I've had a couple of big projects that I'm was working on.
The first is for a fundraising picnic.  The was a fundraiser for seniors.  I did up 10 packages of cards to give away.

Each package contained 7 cards, 1 thinking of you, 1 sympathy, 1 baby girl card, 1 baby boy card, and three birthday cards.

The Second Forever Young

Here is the second card, the one I will give her.

I used Forever Young, I stamped the Birthday Wishes from SU Bring on the Cake.

Forever Young Birthday

Hi everyone, its been more than a month since I have posted.  I therefore broke my New Years Resolution.
I will try to get back on track.
Here are a couple of cards I made for one of the girls at work.  She is a pretty young thing and I though Forever Young would be my best bet.
I didn't like the way the first card turned out but here it is.
I used Forever Young and Formal Occassions for the card pieces.  For the boarder I used one of the Cake Cartridges ( I just don't remember which one).

Dear Santa

Hi everyone,
I made another layout from the Ultimate Creative Series.   I've learned a few more things.
First not all the cuts are on this cartridge.  For the Santa, there is no layer for the red suit santa wears, for the phrase the white hat is missing.  Luckly I do own the cart that these cuts come from.
Here are the pictures from the cartridge and from the Ulitmate series cart.

Sorry about the fuziness of the pictures.
Anyway here is the finished product.

Families are Forever

Just before Christmas I ordered the Ultimate Creative Series Sampler with the DVD's.  I have been watching all the projects, today I decided to try a couple of the scrapbooking layouts.  I went with the page below.  It was suppose to be simple.  I printed the instructions, picked out my paper and started the project.  The instruction said to cut the background for the tree at 5", well the tree came out at about 2.5".  Of course I realized that this is because the original cut comes from Just Because Cards.
to Cut at 5" I needed the real dial size on.  Then of course I need to adjust all the cuts for the tree.
The other problem was that the layer for the tree does have a solid layer.  I had to cut the layer with the holes, 2 times as per the instructions, the only way this would work was to either cut the solid tree again or use the Just Because cartridge and pick the solid layer.  Other adjustments had to be made for the title.  Anyway I'm still happy with the outcome, but it was not quick like I was hoping for.

HAPPY EASTER

My this year is going fast.  My New Years resolution was to make one post a week on my blog.
I've done pretty well until this past week, but things have been pretty crazy at work and I've been exhausted and not able to create.

Hear are the Easter treats I made for my family.  4 are missing as the kids saw them and took theirs already.

Enjoy and Happy Easter.

Thank you cards

Every new client of mine gets a Thank you card.  I wanted something really quick. I made 30+ of these.  They are supper fast.  I used scraps, and that's probably the best thing.  I just kept pulling out patterned paper at least 4X4 in size and made the cards.
All stamps are from Stampin Up, as is the scalloped circle punch.  The circle punch was from Creative Memories, on some cards I used the larger circle and for some the smaller one.

Cycle of life,

Well this week I had two cards to make, I found out one of my clients had a baby boy, and I found out another had lost her daughter-in-law.
I made these two cards.  The sympathy card was done with Stampin Up stamps and the Baby card was done with my Imagine machine. (I used Create a Critter and the Nursery Tails cartridge), I love how fast the Imagine is, and best of all it is all done with one sheet of white cardstock.
How sad it is to make sympathy cards.  This young girl died while waiting for a new lung, she was on the top of the donor list.  Her death has meant that 4 people received her organs and will now lead better lives.  Please remember to fill out a donor card.

Imagine Mothers Day

It's been two weeks since I used my Imagine, I thought I'd better print something so that the ink doesn't dry up.  I used one of the stock images on the Imagine and flood filled it with one of the patterned papers on the Imagine More Cards Cartridge, I cut the image at 3.3 inches.  Next I flood filled the same image with a coordination color from the same cartridge, and cut it at 3.6 inches.
I chose my base color Lively Lilac (retired Stampin Up), with a mat of Concord Crush (Stampin Up).
I used the Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder, and some dollar store ribbon.
The sentiment was from a retired Stampin Up set and is stamped with Concord Crush Ink.
I have to admit when I was making this card I was less than impressed with it.  I turned to pintrest and found some inspiration (A similar card).

Imagine Birthday Card

Boy today has been busy.  I started the day by helping a friend with her new cricut.  I hope she enjoys it as much as I enjoy mine.
Anyway I showed her what the Imagine was all about.  I did this cut from Imagine More Cartridge.
I sat thinking about a card to make for my blog and thought I'll use the cut from this morning.
I think it took me about 3 minutes to make.  Its very simple, but I like the way it turned out.

Valentines treats

Well it's Monday, what a long day its been.  I'm sitting in my craft room thinking about Valentines treats for my office.  Suddenly I realize I haven't posted this week.
This treat bag is very quick 20 minutes (but that includes picking the paper, stamps, and ribbon).
This is a 2.5 cello bag, the paper is scraps, the ribbon is a scrap, the stamp is from stampin up.
I used Ruby red ink, close to cocoa, and white craft ink.  I didn't use my cricut, I punched the hearts with Creative Memories punches.

Valentines Mail Boxes

I'm making these Valentines Mail Boxes for some kids I know.  I used TBBM2 cricut cartridge.  It is cut at 9", (use a 12 x 24 mat).  The money and teddy bear are cut from CC2, I cut at 3.25 inches.

Male Birthday

I have a bunch of birthdays coming up for males. Aren't men hard to make cards for. This is a card I saw on Pintrest. I used stampin Up sanded as my back ground stamp and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I cut the Happy out with Plantin School book, I cut it twice once on chipboard and then once on patterned paper found on the HopScotch cartridge (cricut imagine). I used my imagine to cut the cupcake, found on the Better Together cartridge. I cut the Balloon and the party hat on my imagine, and flood filed the images with patterned paper found on the HopScotch cartridge. The birthday was a stamp from CTMH and embossed with white embossing powder.

BIRTHDAY SHOE

As I said I am trying to post at least once a week, so here is my card for this week.

I saw this on pintrest, and thought it would be the perfect card for one of the girls at work. She adores shoes. I clicked on the link to see if I could find instructions, I could but you had to pay for them, so I decided to make my own.

Supplies used:
Cricut Wedding Cartridge -- the shoe cut at 3.25 inches.
Flowershop Cartridge -- flower cut at 1.5 inches
Tags Bags Boxes and More -- tag cut at 2 inches
Bubblegum Strips -- for the pattern on the shoe and for the pattern on the tag and background
Stampinup paper and two pieces of scrap DP I had left over.

Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder.
